Bacon was born in Cœur d’Alene, Idaho, in 1951. He attended Linfield College in Oregon where he received his BA In 1974. Following that, he studied at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center, where he received his medical degree in 1978. “Being an avid collector of abstract art since the early 1990s eventually lead to creating my own abstract works. My works are largely non-representational. My paintings are characterized by a distinctive use of color and form that make for a unique style. Always seeking to develop new techniques and colors leads to a large variety in my work. The process of creating my work is largely intuitive without pre-determined plans. The paintings proceed from beginning to end by letting the canvas speak and show the way. This leads to a style that is totally uninhibited and presents infinite possibilities. Art is not only visual but also emotional. It is meant to be felt as much as seen.”
John BACON is represented by Monteoliveto Gallery from 2021 participating in November in the PARIS (France) exhibition “Never Give Up!”. In 2022 John Bacon will be exhibited in GHENT (Belgium) Art Fair and SM’ART AIX Art Fair in Aix-en-Provence (France).
