some words about Matilda series
Matilda is one of Sara Abou Mrad’s most particular allegorical Art collection where she paints a fraction of her sacred emotion through lines, forms, color layers, brushstrokes and with the use of raw, earthy and bold colors. Matilda’s silhouette, embodies visionsof solitude, fertility, love and sexuality. Matilda always communicates with the powerful presence of the fauna and flora, the four elements and the crisscrossing becomes a metaphor of osmosis between: Fragility and strength, fear and courage, rebellion and submission, life and death.

In 2020 she has realized the sculpture Sleeper in motion, shattered glass, resin 30 x 27 x 15 cm, made from a selection of the glass debris that resulted from the explosion that occurred in Beirut port, on August 4, 2020. Edition 1/9 See the video Beyrouth, L’INSTANT T…,

The sculpture was offered to Emmanuel Macron, président de la République Française at the Résidence des Pins in Beyrouth on September 1st, at the occasion of the commemoration of the Centenary of Greater Lebanon. The artist will be in an art residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris next months and will participate to the MGParis event  “La rentrée des galeries” and other art events in Paris.
