The Project
In 2023, Monteoliveto Gallery is back on the road or more accurately…Sur la Route…! We are preparing a new adventure that will ally our passion and interest for slow-travel, Ecology and bicycling with of course our love for Art and Culture. So this summer we will continue to follow our yearly thematic for the Ecological, Cultural, Social and Artistical Transition with a new episode of this itinerant project!
There is one major changement this time: Instead of doing the trip and then associate the narration of the trip to a final exhibition…We are going to bring the exhibition on the trip! So it will be a definetely, an exhibition…Sur la Route!
We called this year episode: Internal Borders. From the 21st of July to the 15th of August 2023, the Director of the Gallery: Gilbert Ciervo will be on the roads of Italy with a team of enthousiasts that will join him on the full trip or just on some legs, only by bicycle, train and when needed…ferry. In that way they without changing of country they will cross the many borders that exists between italian regions and discover different landscapes, cultures, ways of life all of that by slow-travelling and showing the exhibition that they bring with them.
The exhibition:
But how will they bring an whole exhibition with them you will say?! Simple! We ask to the artists, that wishes to participate in this extraordinary experience, to create one work with a maximum size of an A5 (15×21 cm) on light support (paper, cardboard, tissue, even digital if you want) and with sustainable materials as much as possible (if possible fully sustainable, to support our cause).
To apply it’s simple, fill the online form and if it is possible for you, support the crowdfunding for the project, with a minimum of 10 € (or more if you want to support even more our project and its next episodes). If selected we will write back to you very shortly and you will have until the 18th of July to send your artwork to the departing location in Napoli, Italy. Be quick, there are only 30 spots and the applications close the 10th of July!

Charity: For every 10 books/catalogs or t-shirt that we will sell we will make a 20 € donation to a children and an ecological and bicycle security charity (10+10 €: Save the children + Greenpeace/Fondazione Marco Scarponi), because we believe that our future must be built for them and with them, helping their health, their Earth and their education.
Nel 2023, Monteoliveto Gallery torna sulla strada o più precisamente…Sur la Route…! Stiamo preparando una nuova avventura che unirà la nostra passione e interesse per i viaggi lenti, l’ecologia e la bicicletta con ovviamente il nostro amore per l’arte e la cultura. Quindi quest’estate continueremo a seguire la nostra tematica annuale per la Transizione Ecologica, Culturale, Sociale e Artistica con un nuovo episodio di questo progetto itinerante!
Questa volta c’è un grande cambiamento: invece di fare il viaggio e poi associare la narrazione del viaggio a una mostra finale… Porteremo la mostra durante il viaggio! Quindi sarà sicuramente una mostra…Sur la Route!
Abbiamo intitolato l’episodio di quest’anno: Internal Borders. Dal 21 luglio al 15 agosto 2023, il Direttore della Galleria: Gilbert Ciervo sarà sulle strade d’Italia con un team di appassionati che lo accompagneranno per l’intero viaggio o solo per alcune tappe, solo in bicicletta, treno e quando serve…traghetto. In questo modo, senza cambiare paese, attraverseranno i molti confini che esistono tra le regioni italiane e scopriranno paesaggi, culture, stili di vita diversi, tutto questo viaggiando lentamente e mostrando la mostra che portano con sé.
La mostra:
Ma come faranno a portare con sé un’intera mostra direte voi?! Semplice! Chiediamo agli artisti, che desiderano partecipare a questa straordinaria esperienza, di realizzare un’opera della dimensione massima di un A5 (15×21 cm) su supporto leggero (carta, cartoncino, velina, anche digitale volendo) e con materiali sostenibili il più possibile (se possibile pienamente sostenibile, per sostenere la nostra causa).
Per candidarsi è semplice, compila il form online e se ti è possibile sostieni il crowdfunding per il progetto, con un minimo di 10 € (o più se vuoi sostenere ancora di più il nostro progetto e le sue prossime puntate). Se selezionato, ti risponderemo a breve e avrai tempo fino al 18 luglio per inviare la tua opera d’arte al luogo di partenza a Napoli, in Italia. Affrettati, ci sono solo 30 posti e le iscrizioni chiudono il 10 luglio!

Nous préparons une nouvelle aventure qui alliera notre passion et notre intérêt pour le slow-travel, l’Ecologie et le vélo avec bien sûr notre amour pour l’Art et la Culture. Alors cet été nous poursuivrons notre thématique annuelle pour la Transition Ecologique, Culturelle, Sociale et Artistique avec un nouvel épisode de ce projet itinérant !
Il y a un changement majeur cette fois-ci : Au lieu de faire le voyage et d’associer ensuite la narration du voyage à une exposition finale… Nous allons amener l’exposition dans le voyage ! Ce sera donc définitivement une exposition… Sur la Route !
Nous avons appelé l’épisode de cette année : Internal Borders. Du 21 juillet au 15 août 2023, le Directeur de la Galerie : Gilbert Ciervo sera sur les routes d’Italie avec une équipe de passionnés qui le rejoindront sur le trajet complet ou juste sur quelques jambes, uniquement à vélo, train et au besoin… ferry. De cette façon, sans changer de pays, ils traverseront les nombreuses frontières qui existent entre les régions italiennes et découvriront différents paysages, cultures, modes de vie, tout cela en voyageant lentement et en montrant l’exposition qu’ils apportent avec eux.
L’exposition:
Mais comment vont-ils amener toute une exposition avec eux me direz-vous ?! Simple! Nous demandons aux artistes, qui souhaitent participer à cette expérience hors du commun, de créer une œuvre d’un format maximum A5 (15×21 cm) sur support léger (papier, carton, tissu, voire numérique si vous le souhaitez) et avec des matériaux durables autant que possible (si possible entièrement durable, pour soutenir notre cause).
Pour postuler c’est simple, remplissez le formulaire en ligne et si cela vous est possible soutenez le crowdfunding pour le projet, avec un minimum de 10 € (ou plus si vous souhaitez soutenir encore plus notre projet et ses prochains épisodes) . Si vous êtes sélectionné, nous vous répondrons très prochainement et vous aurez jusqu’au 18 juillet pour envoyer votre œuvre au lieu de départ à Naples, en Italie. Faites vite, il n’y a que 30 places et les candidatures se clôturent le 10 juillet !
