Monteoliveto Gallery’s first group exhibition in Naples, for 2024, focuses on a theme that fascinates, in its various expressions, most of the world’s population: Sport.
2024 will indeed be a year full of competitive events: from football to sailing, from cycling to the Olympics. This is why the gallery decided to choose the annual theme: Sport and Art.
With this in mind, it was only right to begin with an exhibition that approached the theme in all its aspects, thus S.P.O.R.T. was born: a blank canvas open to creation for the artists and interpretation for the public.
It will be possible to talk about sporting practice as well as the aesthetics of movement, the history of sport as well as its impact on society. Another cue will be the fresh nomination of Naples as European Capital of Sport for 2026, in a more than difficult context for its practice… art will therefore also be a method of provocation and questioning on the role that sport can play in the development of the city of today and tomorrow.

La prima mostra collettiva napoletana della Monteoliveto Gallery, per il 2024, si sofferma su un tema che appassiona, nelle sue varie espressioni, la maggior parte della popolazione mondiale: lo Sport.
Il 2024, sarà in effetti un anno pieno di eventi agonistici: dal calcio alla vela, da ciclismo alle olimpiadi. Per questo la galleria ha deciso di scegliere come tematica annuale: Sport e Arte.
In quest’ottica, era giusto cominciare con una mostra che approcciasse il tema sotto tutti i suoi aspetti, così nasce: S.P.O.R.T. una tela bianca aperta alla creazione per gli artisti e all’interpretazione per il pubblico.
Si potrà parlare di pratica sportiva come di estetica del movimento, di storia dello sport come del suo impatto sulla società. Un altro spunto sarà la fresca nomina di Napoli a Capitale Europea dello Sport per il 2026, in un contesto più che difficile per la sua pratica…l’arte sarà quindi anche un metodo di provocazione e d’interrogazione sul ruolo che può avere lo sport nello sviluppo della città del presente e del domani.
